BAMZ Opens Following Hurricane Gonzalo
Bernews
Monday, October 20, 2014

The Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo [BAMZ] remains open following Hurricane Gonzalo’s visit to Bermuda over the weekend, following its midday opening yesterday [Oct 19] as the island worked to repair the damage caused by the storm.

A spokesperson said, “The North Rock Tank, Seal Walkway, Local Tails, the Zoo Courtyard, the Natural History Museum, and our café, AZU Beastro, are all open and ready for guests.

“Portions of the children’s playground, Discovery Cove, are also open, although a section has been cordoned off.

“The property did receive some damage during Hurricane Gonzalo, and as a result, there are some exhibits closed, however, our staff is diligently working to reopen these exhibits.

“We wish to thank the public for their patience and understanding at this time as we not only clean up from Hurricane Gonzalo, but also as we continue work on the Aquarium roof.”
