The Bermuda Zoological Society [BZS] recently held professional development workshops for Primary, Middle and Senior school teachers, with the workshops focused on “Discovering Trunk Island and What it Has to Offer.”

The BZS has been running a campaign related to Trunk Island in Harrington Sound, with the BZS aiming to help provide classes that utilize the island as a “living classroom” to some 3,000 students.

Dr. Wingate On “Man’s Impact On Bermuda”

The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] and Bermuda Zoological Society [BZS] are getting set to present “Man’s Impact on Bermuda” with Dr. David Wingate on Thursday, October 26, beginning at 7.00pm.

The event poster says, “Don’t miss David Wingate’s last lecture in this format! Chart the natural history of Bermuda since man first colonized Bermuda until present day. Some of the highlights to include: the geological origin of oceanic islands, the agricultural & tourism eras, World War 2, trying to save & restore the past and a look into the future!“

The presentation will get underway at 7.00pm, with dinner opening at 6.00pm at Harbourfront and includes 15 minutes intermission at 9.30pm.

Tickets cost $20 for members, $25 for non-members and $10 for students, and are available by calling 294-0204 or visiting BUEI’s Oceans Gift Shop.
