A pair of Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins were spotted inshore yesterday [June 24] off the North Shore, and the Department of Conservation said it is “highly unusual” for them to be close to shore and in such small numbers.

The Bermuda Aquarium Museum and Zoo celebrated World Oceans Day on Saturday, by putting on a host of activities highlighting Bermuda’s connection to the sea.
Visitors, who enjoyed free admission to the facility, were able to take part in a ‘Get Salty’ breath-holding competition and ocean-themed crafts, and also learn about ocean resources and the need to conserve them.

A number of local organisations took part in the event, including Government’s departments of Conservation Services and Fisheries, BIOS, the Lionfish Task Force, the Sargasso Sea Alliance, the Ocean Support Foundation, Bermuda Ocean Explorers, Greenrock!, 5 Gyres, Blue Halo, Dolphin Quest, BUEI and the Marine Debris Task Force.
