The Catlin End-to-End Walk raised more than $300,000 for a host of local charities.

The achievement was announced last night during an awards ceremony at the Hamilton Princess.

Donations of $35,000 each went to the Adult Education School, Centre Against Abuse, Meals on Wheels, and Open Airways, while $30,000 went to the Family Centre.

There were donations of $20,000 to the Bermuda School of Music, Friends of Hospice, St Johns Ambulance, and Westmeath, respectively. Finally, $10,000 went to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Bermuda.

For the Catlin Marine Grants, $43,640 was donated to the Bermuda Zoological Society’s BREAM project, while $6,000 went to Keep Bermuda Beautiful, and $5,000 to the Bermuda National Trust.

In total, $303,640 was raised during the Island’s biggest fundraiser. It was the most-attended event to-date, according to organisers, who credited The Royal Gazette’s sponsorship and coverage as a major driving force for the success of this year’s End-to-End.

The award for top individual fundraiser for the event was Aideen Ratteray-Pryse, who raised $3,760. Keil Gunther was the top matching fundraiser, raising $5,395.

The 2014 Founder’s Trophy was awarded to the Corporation of St George’s Deputy Mayor, Quinell Francis, and Works Superintendent, Shannon Outerbridge.

The award for top school went to the Berkeley Institute, while the top team winners were First Atlantic Commerce and Friends. The top supportive team was awarded to Renaissance Re, while the waterstop award went to CellOne.

The Catlin End-to-End top volunteer award was given to Angela Hooper.

Top teams included Catlin, Bermuda Police Service, Team Lunch, The Untrained, Team HSBC, Bermuda Karting Club, and Colonial Insurance.

The Gold Club awardees were Greg Blackwood-Lee, Chris Coelho, Chris Burns, Jennifer Gunn, Todd Fonner, Devon Moss, Heather Kitson, Robert Lee, and Nicole Pinder.

Finally, Brian Darby and David Lopes were named Honorary End-to-Enders.
