Nature award: Winner of the Mervyn White Shield, Ruskin Cave, with Andrew Dobson,
president of Bermuda Audubon Society, and camp director Camilla Stringer.

Saltus Grammar School student Ruskin Cave has won a natural history award after attending a camp on Nonsuch Island.

Ruskin, 16, was presented with the Mervyn White Shield for achieving top marks during the camp which was run by Bermuda Audubon Society and Bermuda Zoological Society. The camp, which is funded by Catlin Insurance, PartnerRe and The Garden Club of Bermuda, offers students aged 15 to 18 an opportunity for hands-on learning about natural history from local experts.

Ruskin said he planned to pursue a career in marine science and conservation and plans to return to Nonsuch Camp as a counsellor.
