Kids on the Reef

The Kids on the Reef programme is an active two-day classroom and immersion programme teaching the skills and knowledge for youth to become safe free divers and advocates for global ocean issues facing Bermuda. It runs in the fall and spring. The programme includes both confined water and open-water free diving instruction from land and from the boat (depending on weather) along with teaching coral reef ecology, ocean conservation, and personal development through setting goals and coaching mental and body awareness. Students are gifted a mask and a snorkel to keep.

We have introduced hundreds of Bermudian young people to the ocean in their backyard and strive to cater to all the M1 students across the island.

This programme is also possible thanks to the involvement of older chaperones to provide the appropriate supervision in the water.
