The BZS Junior Volunteer (JV) Programme is a year-long opportunity for secondary school students aged 14–17 who are passionate about animals, marine science, conservation, and environmental education. Through this unique programme, students develop leadership, confidence, teamwork, and communication skills while supporting the work of BZS.

Junior Volunteers assist with exciting events and activities such as Zoom Around the Sound, Santa Comes to BZS, the Easter Bunny Hop, BAMZ Open Days, and guided tours. They also gain behind-the-scenes experience across Education, the Aquarium, and the Zoo, learning firsthand about conservation, animal care, and environmental education. Every two years, participants may have the opportunity to join an international conservation trip, with past destinations including Costa Rica, Borneo, and the Galápagos.
