Junior Volunteer Application
Complete and submit a Junior Volunteer application online.
Designed for high school students aged 14-17 desiring more than just occasional volunteer work, participants in the Junior Volunteer Programme must commit to one morning every week (Saturday or Sunday 8:30 am-noon) for the entire school year (October-June).
Our JVs learn about animal care and exhibit maintenance, and help educate visitors to BAMZ. Work includes feeding animals, cleaning exhibits, collecting specimens, and talking to visitors. Participants enjoy meeting peers from other schools and going on field trips to nature reserves and marine parks. They also work towards SCUBA certification and fundraising for an overseas environmental education trip.
This is an ideal programme for teens involved in award schemes, or for those who require community service hours.
Teenagers are invited to submit their applications by mid-September. Short-listed students will then be interviewed, and the programme begins in early October.
We do not normally accept applications from students under the age of 14. Exceptions may be made for students who turn 14 in October.
For more information, contact the BZS Youth Programme Coordinator at 293-2727 ext. 2133 or email activities@bzs.bm.
Completed forms may be emailed to the Junior Volunteer Programme Coordinator at activities@bzs.bm.
Forms are also available at the BAMZ reception, and may be dropped off at the front desk of the Aquarium by the designated date, or mailed to:
