Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo
Open Hours – 9am – 4:30pm (Last entry at 4pm)

Led by the Bermuda Zoological Society (BZS) in partnership with the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo (BAMZ), the Aquarium 100 Campaign seeks to raise $15,000,000, as part of a $30,000,000 vision. The campaign will modernise learning spaces and exhibits, expand education and conservation programmes, and strengthen Bermuda’s climate resilience through targeted infrastructure upgrades and island-centred research, while growing our endowment to sustain this work for generations.
For families, students, teachers and visitors of every age, the campaign will ignite curiosity, deepen appreciation for island environments and invite everyone to join as active stewards. Explore the campaign to discover how you can get involved and shape BAMZ’s next chapter.
BAMZ and the Bermuda Zoological Society (BZS) share a nearly century-long legacy of conservation, education and research. Since BZS was founded in 1978, and with BAMZ (itself one of the world’s oldest aquariums established in 1926 and AZA-accredited for more than 30 years) we have delivered dynamic exhibits, hands-on STEM programmes, conservation projects and cutting-edge research that protect Bermuda’s ecosystems and inspire stewardship.
Sustaining this work requires ongoing care: the Aquarium 100 Campaign will build on our legacy by modernising learning spaces and exhibits, strengthening conservation and education programmes, and upgrading infrastructure to improve animal welfare, visitor experience and environmental performance. These practical improvements, together with expanded research and community engagement, will help protect habitats, deepen public understanding and ensure BZS can sustain its work well into the future.
With nearly 100,000 visitors annually, BAMZ is a vital centre for learning. By upgrading spaces and programmes, the Aquarium 100 Campaign will keep those experiences relevant and accessible.
Protecting our future through a $30,000,000 endeavour.
To bring the Aquarium 100 vision to life, we are raising $15,000,000 in private support. Our campaign focuses on three core priorities that together will modernise BAMZ, expand education and conservation work, and secure the financial stability to sustain this mission for generations.
Use of funds
Overview
These critical enhancements will create engaging, hands-on experiences and provide access to modern tools and digital resources. Upgrades will also improve animal welfare, accessibility and environmental performance across the site.
Impact
Improved facilities will inspire wonder, remove barriers to learning and create world-class spaces that nurture a conservation ethic in every visitor.
Use of funds
Overview
BZS currently delivers 8000 plus free, school-based experiences each year. This investment will broaden access, deepen curriculum content, and develop new programmes and events for children, youth, adults and seniors, ensuring learning opportunities reach diverse communities across Bermuda.
Impact
Expanded programmes will immerse more visitors in meaningful experiences that inspire long-term stewardship and build local conservation capacity.
Use of funds
Overview
A larger endowment provides a permanent, reliable source of income that underpins BZS’s work year after year. It complements capital and programme investments by ensuring continuity and financial resilience in uncertain times.
Impact
A healthy endowment safeguards BZS against economic fluctuations and secures the long-term financial foundation needed to sustain conservation and education efforts.

The Master Plan reimagines BAMZ as a 21st-century centre for conservation, education and research. Over time you will see modern, engaging exhibits, safer and more energy-efficient buildings, improved access and better animal care, all designed to deepen learning and strengthen our ability to protect Bermuda’s island environments.
We will deliver these improvements through a carefully staged, zoned approach. Renovations will be completed one zone at a time so the site can remain open and welcoming throughout the works.
What this means for visitors and our community:
All work will be guided by our Master Plan and delivered in partnership with leading exhibit, animal care specialists, and conservation experts. The result will be a refreshed, resilient BAMZ that serves the community now and for generations to come.
The Playground
The Playground is the campaign’s first visible project: a new, custom-designed outdoor play area for families and school groups. Construction is scheduled to begin in Winter 2026, and work will be planned to keep disruption to a minimum.
We see play as a powerful way for children to grow and learn, developing physical skills, social confidence, emotional resilience and curiosity. A well-designed play environment makes learning natural and memorable: children discover themselves, connect with others and explore the world around them. The new BAMZ Playground will complement our school programmes and exhibits, helping to bring BAMZ’s stories of reef life, natural habitats and conservation to life in a hands-on, joyful way for visitors of all ages.
Philanthropy has played a vital role in shaping BZS and BAMZ ability to grow, evolve, and lead, supporting the development of exhibits, the expansion of educational programmes, and the advancement of vital conservation work.
This spirit of giving has helped transform ideas into impact, strengthening our ability to protect Bermuda’s natural environment and inspire future generations.
Now, we invite our community to help shape what comes next and to imagine a future where…
